Reel 2024.
Creative and Compositing Visual Effects reel 2024 I am an Australian compositor who has spent my career creating photoreal visual effects for some of the industry's most complex projects. This showreel represents a journey through visual storytelling, featuring work from Spider-Man: No Way Home, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and a broader portfolio of feature films, episodic work and documentaries.
For me, compositing is where the many disciplines of visual effects come together. It is the final stage where live-action photography, digital environments, 3D assets and countless invisible details are brought into a single believable image. The process is a balance of science and art, requiring technical precision while always serving the story and the emotion of the shot.
Every frame is a puzzle of light, colour, perspective and movement. A successful composite should feel effortless, as though it was captured naturally through the camera rather than constructed layer by layer. Achieving that illusion requires a deep understanding of how light behaves in the real world, combined with years of experience solving complex technical challenges.
Working closely with supervisors, directors and fellow artists, I enjoy the process of finding creative solutions to difficult problems, whether that involves complex tracking, subtle environmental integration, invisible cleanup or developing new tools and workflows to push the craft further.
Ultimately, compositing is about creating the illusion of truth. It allows filmmakers to extend reality beyond the limits of the camera while preserving the authenticity of the story. It is a discipline built on curiosity, attention to detail and the constant pursuit of making the impossible feel real.
